Most Popular Blog Posts of 2025

19 years ago this week (on Halloween actually!), I wrote my first blog post on Everyday Reading.

I had a LiveJournal in high school and college, managing to convince all my roommates, my girlfriends, and a bunch of guys we had dinner with in the cafeteria to start one too.

But in 2005, I started reading blogs written by people I DID NOT know and I was fascinated by the glimpses into other people’s lives.

I told Bart all about people I didn’t really know and after a year of this, he suggested that I wanted to start my own blog.

My response? “I have nothing to say.”

Ha! The joke was on me because 19 years later it turns out I’ve had more than enough to say.

Every year, I enjoy looking back to see what posts were the most popular over the past 12 months.

There are always some that I know will show up and some that completely surprise me! Here’s what topped the charts this year!

2024 $5 Gift Guide
$5 gift guides have always been popular, but last year it was absolutely crazy hundreds of thousands of link requests on reels I did (that one reel increased my Instagram audience by about 100,000 followers!). It’s no surprise that this is the most popular post of the year!

Where to Get a Non-Resident Library Card
This was the #1 post last year and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it holding strong at #2 this year. The team and I work hard to keep it updated – adding libraries as we find them and removing libraries if they change their policies.

Kindle 101
This post was SO FUN to write because I love Kindle readers and answered all the questions about them – they were the top performers last year and even MORE popular this year! I’m happy because this is useful for many people. (I also did an Audible 101 post and a Yoto 101 post!)

Best Audiobooks for Road Trips
This post has grown in popularity, ranking higher on this list every year! There’s something truly magical about listening to something on a trip together and I’m excited to share some ideas with you for your family trip!

Everyday Reading Book Club 2025
Every year since 2021, an Everyday Reading Book Club post has been on my top posts list and this year’s list is more popular than ever! Stay tuned for the 2026 list coming in December!

How we got airport lounge access for our entire family
This one is a surprising new addition to the list! We loved having lounge access for our trip this year and I’m sad things are changing in 2026 for lounge access.

WHOA, this post is making Instagram crazy. I’ve posted it three different times and each time it went viral. I’m so glad this list is so useful for parents who don’t want to hand over The Fourth Wing or Colleen Hoover to their teenagers!
