My Favorite Adult Coloring Books

Monochrome Coloring Book
I shared about this back in December when I picked one up for myself, and it’s unlike any coloring book I’ve ever tried. You just use one color and watch the image come to life. Very low stress! There is no need to decide which color to use for the flower petals or what shade of green the tree should have. It’s been a relaxing and enjoyable way for me to unwind.

Cocowyo Coloring Book
My girls are obsessed with these and so am I! We often take them out during read-aloud time. There are so many fun options and scenes, it’s hard not to get caught up. Ani had a hot tub birthday party in December this year and we gave away these Christmas party favors and they were a huge hit! Can’t recommend it enough.

Lifeline Flow Diagram
After purchasing a few of these for our home, I’m sure they’ll be a lot of fun! They’re similar to diamond art, but without the small pieces, and I love that each set includes everything you need, making them perfect for easy, on-the-go entertainment.

Qwerkle
This adult coloring book is VERY spectacular and different from other coloring books. When you open the book, everything looks like a bunch of blobs, but when you start coloring, the animal pictures appear like magic. This activity book has been VERY useful in our house over the past few years.

Reverse Coloring Book
If you like outlining your art, this is something you should check out. With full color pages – often soft washes of watercolor or abstract shapes – you add lines. Your task is to imagine what color will result and draw details, shapes, patterns or scenes on it.

Colored pencils
We have so many sets of these colored pencils – all my girls have them and love them. It’s very affordable with a soft core that’s perfect for coloring and drawing. (I always keep a stash in my gift cupboard and pair it with a picture book for an easy, foolproof gift.)

Watercolor Markers
I know alcohol markers are popular, but my daughter prefers watercolor markers (and they don’t have a bad smell like other alcohol markers. The colors are so beautiful!

Alcohol Based Markers
If you haven’t tried alcohol-based markers, this brand is the gold standard. And the case of this set is So great, no need to search for colors, everything is organized and easy to grab.
