Dresses for Girls: Best place to shop for girls dresses

There’s nothing more fun than a closet full of cute dresses for girls. Over the years, we have tried dozens of clothing stores and these are all my favorite places to buy dresses, from toddlers to teens!

There aren’t many things I’m good at, but with four daughters?

Dresses for girls is definitely a place I have a lot of experience!

We’ve had a lot of dresses over the years and I don’t think they were too challenging when we were little but got tricky as we got into our tween and teens!

Here are my favorite places to buy dresses for girls:

Best place to buy dresses for girls

Alice + Ames

This is probably one of the most popular little shops selling cute dresses for girls – I see them everywhere on Instagram and in real life.

Alice + Ames is best known for its ballet-style swirl dresses, but it has branched out into woven dresses plus some skirts and tops as well as short cuts. My girls love their Alice + Ames dresses (we used black one year for witch dresses for Halloween) and they have gotten so many outfits over the years! Old Navy

I’m an Old Navy lover and I especially think they love it when it comes to cute dresses for girls. We have had many Old Navy toddler and baby dresses and they have all held up beautifully through four girls. I think their dresses are the perfect balance of trendy and classic, and tend to be very well made (although I always go for woven dresses, not stretchy cotton dresses).

Carter’s

I’ve loved Carter’s since before Ella was born and they have so many great clothing options. I especially love shirt dresses and other cute classic dresses for girls. The price is hard to beat and it holds up well. I got a second hand Carter dress for Ella in 2010 and it has lasted all four of my girls!

Dresses for Older Girls (Ages 11-16)

J. Crew / J. Crew Factory

I found some great dresses at J.Crew and J.Crew Factory. They have great sales and you can often find items at 70% off – which makes the clothes cheaper than Walmart prices. If you’re looking for matching family outfits for Easter, Christmas, or family photos, this is a great choice because their girls’ dresses are available in sizes 2-16 and have matching cuts for the whole family. I’ve also had great luck with sizes XXS in the women’s section for my 13 and 15 year olds!

The print and colors on this dress are so fun! Plus, I really can’t say no to big sleeve dresses for girls.

Block Print, Smocked Dress
Sizes 2T-12

I feel smocked dresses are perfect for babies and toddlers, but I love the idea of ​​smocked dresses for older girls.

Girls Celebration Dresses
Sizes 2-14

If you have a special event to attend – a wedding, graduation, fancy party, or even church, this dress is simply stunning! I love all the little details and I know my girls will feel absolutely beautiful in these.

Maurice

This shop has been a big hit for teen dresses in our house – I think sizing may vary, so be sure to check the reviews for a particular item to see how it fits!

Called to Surfing

Called to Surf is a local Provo shop, but they also have a website and ship throughout the US. They have a large selection of dresses for women and girls. And they even have some fun options for mom and me. I love this blue floral dress!

Citrus Primavera Girls Dress
Sizes XXS-XL

I really want to wear this dress myself. It looks very breezy and flowing for the coming spring and summer months. Plus, the tiny blue flowers are super cute.

Kali Orange Embroidered Dress

This flower embroidery is very beautiful! I also love that this one comes in a Mommy & Me style – if you like matching with your daughter.

Rylee and Cru

Rylee and Cru recently came out with a teen line. The dress is so cute!
Teen Ivy Dress
Sizes 12-16

Rylee and Cru make dresses that are incredibly comfortable, look great but still look refined and timeless.

Zara

Zara can be a hit and miss for me sometimes, but they are worth a look – especially during their sales. Most of their girls dresses are size 13-14.

Polka Dot Panel Dress
sizes 6-14

I love when an article of clothing can take you through all seasons, and this one does just that. I can see my girls wearing these in fall, winter, spring, and summer!

Small floor

I love the bright colors and cute patterns that Boden dresses often have. The quality is the best and great to pass on if you have many girls in your family. This is another site to watch for sales.

Shirred Corset Jersey Dress
Sizes 2-12

There’s nothing more comfortable than a jersey dress. It may feel like wearing sweats, but it looks much more dressed up. I know my girls will wear these in a heartbeat.

Quinces

Quince has great clothing for the whole family. My daughters love the sweaters they got for Christmas from Quince. It’s no surprise they have great dresses too!

Is there a good place to buy a dress for the girl I’ve left behind? I’m always eager to try new clothes and I had some very enthusiastic testers who were more than happy to try new clothes.
