9 things that work for me this summer

Summer has never been my favorite season – growing in Las Vegas and then spends most of my adult life in Arizona and Texas, summer is the season you survived, not something to be awaited.

But now the summer is really my favorite season.

I like a more relaxed schedule, a magic summer night, outdoor pickle, and go to the lake.

Now we are more than a month entering the summer, here are some things that work well this summer:

#1 Favorite Swimsuit This Year

9 things that work for me this summer

  • Play a lot of pickleball. This is one of my summer goals and is very fun playing 4-5 times a week, not once a week. Bart and Ella and I play almost every morning in a local place that plays a pick-up game and is very pleasant to get to know so many people from all cities, from teenagers to retirees to other parents. Plus, I feel like I am really better than many games (although it still really makes me frustrated when I don’t play well).
  • Watching castle. We plan to watch some shows with our two big girls this summer, but almost every night, Ani wants to sleep early because she has a swimming team every morning and so we have watched Castle with Ella (who will be 15) and it’s very fun. I really enjoyed this show and Bart and I slowly watch Rookie At night he left.
  • Growing a garden. I had a banner year with my garden in 2020 but when we moved to our new home, the park situation felt much more complicated for me. This year, I decided to start with the beginning of transfer -starting from the seeds (which have been killed by snails in recent years) and that really succeeded. I choose several pumpkins and zucchini every day and our tomatoes are ready. Cucumbers and Paprika, and watermelons also run, plus our wine and Blackberry go crazy as usual (it already exists when we buy a house and they produce a crazy number of fruits every year without my efforts). It’s fun to have this to be successful this year and I like to go to the water and check things almost every night.
  • Exercise yourself in the gym. For five years plus, I went to the morning strength training class several times a week but this was very early and summer, I decided to lift videos at home so I could sleep a little more. This summer, I only chose a video, appeared on my earbud and did it in the gym in a quiet corner while my girls did the swimming team and it was a good complement to all playing pickleball. (This is the program that I use – this is $ 1.49 now for a full year).
  • Linen pants. One or two of the summer ago, I decided finally it was time to stop wearing jeans throughout the year and I started collecting lighter pants and shorts. This year, I ordered two pairs of mixture of linen pants and I used them continuously -they were comfortable and breathing without looking careless and I really liked it.
  • Push a little dinner. During the school year, we almost always eat exactly around 6:00 but during the summer, I have left him slightly slipped to 6:30 and somehow the extra 30 minutes feels very luxurious and makes me feel unhappy.
  • Cross Alam. Last summer, we climbed Mount Timpanogos with friends and we did it again this year (this time with a teenager behind him!). This means we are trying to adjust to a shorter increase several times a week to prepare. I like hiking with Bart last summer, especially in the morning or when the sun sets, and it is very fun to add this to our routine again this year.
  • A pair of new favorite sandals. I bought these sandals about three years ago and loved them (I wore them now, actually!), But this summer I want a pair of sandals that are more casual and after seeing some cute teenage girls wearing this thin rope, I grabbed a pair. I have loved them and used them continuously, including camping and hiking in Canyonlands in early summer. Worthy of every pen!
  • Summer movies in theater. Cinemark made a summer morning film where they featured children’s films in the theater for $ 1.75 tickets. We haven’t gone every week this summer, but we have a lot and my children like it. It was very luxurious to see the film at 9:30 or 10:00 in the morning and I bought a large bucket of Popcorn for $ 10 and everyone divided it. I heard from many of my readers that their local cinema chains did a similar program – Check if you too!

What was successful for you this summer? I want to hear!
