The dangers of energy drinks in healthy soda


I can’t forget the popularity of liquid death. I like coffee, but – is this what happened? Apparently, the answer is, “Yes.” People want stimulants in all forms. We have people like Red Bull and 8-hour energy bottles for a while. But now we have a healthy alternative soda, offering a surge in energy, but in a softer way. Pay attention to antioxidants!

But, is this drink covering the dangers of energy drinks?

As we have seen with soda probiotics and soda that improve mood, you can find drinks with ingredients that really help. But to find out what you get, you have to dig. Once again, we switched to the registered diet expert Carole Havrila at UVA Health for Expert Guidance.

What is claimed by healthy soda energy drinks?

This drink offers an alternative for coffee and more, we must say, hardcore products in your 7-11 local. They promise energy, stamina, and even cognitive increase without collisions and burning from coffee or additional sugar in popular tea.

Many of these brands claim:

  • Has ingredients from ‘natural’ sources
  • Has no artificial taste
  • Better Your Exercise
  • Increase focus and memory
  • Help your mental sharpness
  • Keep you awake

All of this sounds extraordinary. Is this soda really giving birth?

Is this ‘healthy’ energy drink?

My own trip through the grocery hallway made my eyes cross. I recognize the usual caffeine source:

  • Green tea
  • Matcha
  • Yerba Tea

And I am not surprised to record other typical components in this drink: Vitamins B3, B5, B6, and B12. This all helps your body turn food into energy.

Natural chemicals

But many of these alternative drinks are a list of amino acid varieties and chemicals that I don’t know. When I was looking for them, I didn’t always find the clearest definition.

The ingredients that sound more scientific are chemicals made by your body naturally. Companies make various claims about their ability to improve your brain health. What must be considered:

  • N-acetyl-L-thirosin, an L-Tyrosine form, not important amino acids
  • Alpha-GPC, chemicals made by your body from choline, important nutrition
  • Uridine, a nucleoside made in your heart which plays a role in body temperature regulations
  • Ketone, chemicals for giving energy derived from broken fat when you do not have enough glucose to make energy
  • BCAas, essential branching chain amino acids (leusin, isoleusin, valns) that are burned by your muscles for energy

The dangers of energy drinks

At most, supplements do what they say. However, most often, you may not get a strong type of brain and body that is promised. Remember, the supplement industry is mostly not regulated. That means the claims they make have not been proven – at least not by scientists with an interest in selling supplement products.

You might think the fact that supplements are ‘natural’ means they are safe. But whether the chemical is natural or not not making a difference. Too many good things can still be too much.

You want to talk to your doctor about the number of supplements found in what you drink. Your body may have produced the right amount, alone.

Health risks too much energy

Does one of these materials pose health risks? Havrila explains that too much caffeine, in any form, can be dangerous. When energy drinks add other energy -enhancing materials, the amount of caffeine can be too much to be handled by your body.

“Excessive caffeine in some of these drinks, combined with ingredients that can also increase energy intake, can cause heart problems (abnormal heartbeat, increased blood pressure/unsafe), dehydration, worsen anxiety, and interfere with sleep,” said Havrila. He suggested moderation.

This is not to say that alternative energy has no benefits. Green tea and matcha, Havrila Notes, offers healthy antioxidants and compounds. You just want to watch how much you drink, because they tend to have more caffeine than normal tea or coffee.

“There is a known death that occurs due to consumption of this drink due to cardiac arrest,” Havrila warned.

How to avoid too much caffeine

Balance is the key. “Green tea that is brewed to taste is safe,” said Havrila. “But in a larger amount can affect blood thinning, absorption of iron, and can interact with several drugs.”

Another risk to be monitored: regularly drink a large number of jerba pairs “can increase the risk for some cancers and interfere with some cancer, blood pressure, and depression drugs.”

Risk to consider any supplement

Like anything in your diet, you want to consider:

  • Medicinal interactions with blood pressure, anxiety, and blood thinning drugs
  • Allergy Reactions – Can occur with additional ingredients, including botany and herbs
  • Additional Sugar – Even ‘healthy’ drinks tend to contain sugar, add additional calories
  • Extra attention if you are breastfeeding or undergoing medical treatment
