That baby mice book was one of my earliest introductions to graphic novels.

When I took over as elementary school librarian, the library didn’t have graphic novels and when my students started showing interest in them, I ordered some on my very limited book budget.

And the books never return to the library shelves throughout the year – a child will return them and they are immediately taken out of the bin and checked out again.

baby mice continues to be a hit with my own four kids!

If you love baby mice or have students or kids doing it, here are some other series to try!

Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson
Raise your hand if you have a little unicorn lover in your house? I have three and this book is a huge success. Everything in this book happens by accident when Phoebe jumps over a rock on the water and, by accident, slaps a unicorn in the face. And who would have thought that this would make his wish come true? Perhaps the best part is that the unicorn’s name is Marigold Heavenly Nostrils.

Narwhal: Unicorn of the Sea by Ben Clanton
Narwhal and Jelly don’t have much in common but they both love waffles and they are always ready for an adventure together while exploring the ocean. This easy-to-read chapter book series leans more towards the graphic novel format, so it’s a great option for young readers interested in that format.

lunch lady booklunch lady book

The Lunch Lady by Jarrett J. Krosoczka
This was the first children’s graphic novel series I ever read and I distinctly remember reading it on the train in Boston and thinking, “This is SO clever.” The black and white with yellow color scheme is eye-catching and full of crazy adventures and cute crime-fighting tools out of a lunch lady’s kit. I have never met a child who didn’t like this.

Princess in BlackPrincess in Black

The Princess in Black by Shannon Hale and Dean Hale, illustrated by LeUyen Pham
Most of the time, she is Princess Magnolia, prim and proper. But when her Monster Alarm goes off, she turns into the Princess in Black and no monster can defeat her!

Unicorns and YetisUnicorns and Yetis

Owl Diary: Eva’s Treetop Festival by Rebecca Elliott
Who doesn’t want to be an owl and live in a tree house and record all the fun you are having at school and with your friends? If the 12 books in this series are any indication, EVERYONE wants to be an owl! I especially like that it’s made to look like it was written on lined paper.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
