Soft, Sweet, and Incredibly Delicious: Perfume Trends You’ll Definitely Want to Try
If you’ve ever been trapped in the addictive rabbit hole that is perfume content on Instagram or TikTok, you’ve probably come across the term “food.” Typically, this occurs in the context of someone sitting in front of their camera telling a story about how they were chased down the street by a passerby who wanted to know what fragrance they were wearing.
Foodies have earned a reputation for being so quick to accept compliments that everyone around you thinks you’re the best-smelling person in the room. And with the cooler months already upon us, it’s the perfect time to try out the luxury perfume trend. Below, we dive into what foodie perfumes are, what scents are trending, and the best perfumes to spend your hard-earned money on.

What is Gourmand Perfume?
Gourmet perfumes are fragrances that have a sweet, “edible” aroma. Generally, that means rich aromas like vanilla, caramel, and honey. But they can also include other edible aromas such as cherry or strawberry to produce a sweet, fruity aroma. According to Kayvan Mashhadi, Brand Relationship Manager at Scent Split, there are several reasons why delicious food is trending right now. “Coodie perfumes are relaxing, instantly likable, positive energizing and mood-boosting,” he says. “They also have longevity and good projection on the skin.”
While foodie perfumes aren’t necessarily new, they will evolve by 2025. “While in 2020, for example, they were heavy, very sweet, and wintery, today we have a more detailed sub-category of foodie perfumes, from fresh fruit, to patisserie, to heavy lactonics, and powdery florals,” says Mashhadi. Shaylin Sajjadi, Affiliate Marketing Manager at Scent Split, also noticed the return of products like strawberries, cocoa, and milk. “These colors convey the warmth and intimacy that today’s fragrance lovers love so much,” said Sajjadi.

The Best Gourmand Fragrances to Buy Now
Eau de Parfum Vanilla Skin
Notes: Crystal Sugar, Cashmere Wood, Vanilla
Vanilla Bark is the perfect fragrance for someone who wants it to smell sweet but not like actual baked goods. The warm, second-skin-like notes in this fragrance balance the vanilla for an alluring, ultra-smooth delight.
Geez
Notes: Orange, Meringue, Toasted Butter Cake
Oh My Gourmand is exactly what its name would like you to believe: A gourmet treat so well made you’ll text all your friends “OMG” after your first sniff. It opens with notes of zesty citrus, grapefruit, and red currant and dries down to a rich, buttery vanilla scent that smells like a bakery in a bottle.
Boardwalk Delight Eau de Parfum
Notes: Pure Vanilla, Cotton Candy, Coconut Milk
This fragrance makes you feel like you’re eating cotton candy on a boardwalk, soaking up the sun by the ocean—even in the middle of winter. It’s nostalgic, sweet, and very wearable.
Amber Cherry
Notes: Cherry, Almond, Vanilla
If you love Tom Ford Lost Cherry but aren’t too keen on the price tag, this Tom Ford inspired Dossier perfume is the fragrance for you. It tastes sweet, spicy and has a distinctive aroma.
Beirut Baklava
Notes: Orange Blossom, Roasted Pistachios, Baklava
If you’ve ever had baklava, you know its syrupy sweet taste is truly delicious. It’s that spicy, rich, buttery quality that makes Beirut Baklava a favorite.
Yums Mashmallow
Notes: Strawberry, Pink Marshmallow, Whipped Vanilla
If you want a sweet foodie perfume with a fruity, sparkling quality, it doesn’t get better than Yum Boujee Marshmallow. This is a scent that many people love and will have everyone asking what you are wearing.
Lick Me Eau de Parfum
Notes: Whipped Cream, Ice Cream, Waffle Cone
When you eat ice cream, you may not think about what you want it to smell like, but once you smell Lick Me, it’s what you want every time you grab an ice cream cone. This is the perfect winter dish for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Queens Caramel Eau de Parfum
Notes: Caramel, Whipped Coconut, Milky Musk
Sometimes, when the weather is cold, you want something warm and spicy and sweet at the same time. Queens Caramel balances its delicious aroma with salt and musk for a well-rounded aroma.
Buttercream Haze Eau de Parfum
Notes: Vanilla Buttercream Icing, Maple Caramel Cream, Tonka Bean
This fragrance is honestly a highlight in my book. Even though it smells like a piece of fresh cake, it still has a light woody quality making it a versatile perfume.
Happy Dust
Notes: Mango Juice, Bourbon Vanilla, Golden Amber
A foodie perfume doesn’t have to be just one scent. Narcotica may have a vanilla scent, but with the addition of mango, matcha green absolute, and white flower, the aroma becomes a complex unlike anything you’ve ever smelled.
Crumb Fashion
Notes: Croissant Accord, Wild Berry Jam, Toasted Vanilla
Just reading the description of the Crumb Couture fragrance is enough to make you hungry. It’s decadent, buttery, and endlessly delicious.
Caramel Skin Body & Hair Fragrance Mist
Notes: Bergamot, Cream Caramel, Sandalwood
If you think body mists don’t last long, you’ve clearly never tried one from Phlur. This fragrance balances decadence with a fresh, woody touch that will have you spritzing non-stop.
Not Another Cherry
Notes: Wild Cherry, Turkish Rose, Almond Amaretto
If you see a rose and immediately think of your grandmother, Not Another Cherry will show you how delicious a rose smells when cooked properly. Here, it helps create a rich and very tasty cherry aroma.
Mochi Milk Eau de Parfum
Notes: Marshmallow, Vanilla Bean, Sweet Rice Milk
Mochi Milk is the ideal perfume for someone who wants to have a subtle scent without tending to be too literal. It’s not a realistic bakery scent like some foodies like, but rather a decadent vanilla finish that I can’t get enough of.
