What We Actually Got the Girls for Christmas

Eleven years ago, I created my first post “What we ACTUALLY give our girls for Christmas”!

It’s now become such a staple in Daily Reading that when the calendar turned to November, people started sending me messages asking when it would be released!

And here it is!

This post was also very helpful for me personally because it forced Bart and I to sit down and make a decision about what gift we would get for our daughter.

As the girls get older it gets harder to find the right gifts for them (less squishmallows now!) but I think everyone will have a great Christmas.

Here’s what they’ll find under the tree and in their stockings this holiday season!

For Ella (age 15.5)

Clogs sandals
These are VERY popular and I got them in an early Black Friday deal – I think Ella will love them. I keep getting asked if it’s for indoors or outdoors and the good news is you can do it!

Cashmere Sweater
On Tally’s wish list, she requested “Dinner something made of soft cashmere” (I assume she meant “super”, not “dinner”). Well, she’s in luck because we got a cashmere sweater for each of the girls this year for Christmas!

Necklace
Ella has been getting more into jewelry in the past year and we think she would enjoy classic pieces that she can wear all the time!

Pickleball Shoes
Ella is a member of the varsity Pickball team and plays and practices non-stop, so we knew she would love a pair of court shoes that provide more support than a pair of running shoes!

For Ani (age 13)

Clog Sandals
I bought Ani the same pair of clogs (in a different color) and although I think Ella would love them, I think Ani would LOVE them because she is the queen of comfort!

Cashmere Sweater
And a cashmere sweater for you!

Shokz
Last year, we bought Ella a pair of Shokz for Christmas and she loved them so much that Ani asked for a pair too! He joined a community track team this year, so he runs a lot and it’s safer for running because you can hear the traffic better while listening!

Light Board
This is one of the fun things Ani put on her Christmas wish list and I think she’ll love finding it under the tree!

For Stars (almost 11)

Cashmere Sweater
You get cashmere sweaters and you get cashmere sweaters and you get cashmere sweaters!

Book Series

Remote Control Car
This is on Star’s Christmas wish list and I’m already envisioning Christmas morning with these zipped all over the house. It’s a big deal to Bart that there’s quite a bit of FUN involved in Christmas gifts and this one is sure to hit the spot!

American Girl Doll
Star loves playing with our American Girl collection (we have so many clothes and furniture from my childhood!) and she specifically requested new dolls so she could play multiple characters. The year I got American Girl (Addy!) was probably the most memorable Christmas morning of my life.

American Doll Camp
This was one of the things Star requested and would go perfectly with the little Jeep doll we got a year or two ago. I got this on a crazy deal for almost half the price!

For Counting (Almost 9)

LEGO Grocery Store Set
On her wish list, Tally says “A grocery store lego set {please get me this because if you give me anything on this list, please give me this}” so. . . here he is!

Cashmere Sweater
And one last cashmere sweater for the trip!

Book Series

Remote Control Car
Tally added one to her Christmas list so we’re going to get her one in a different color. It’s going to be race car heaven here on December 25th!

Karaoke Device
We have done karaoke several times as a family and my girls LOVE it. I knew the moment I saw this set that it would be a huge hit (and when I shared it online, so many families said they had it and loved it!)

Family Gifts

Flip7
I always like to gift my girls a game for Christmas that we can play in the weeks leading up to the Christmas holidays and throughout the winter. This one is under $10 and has great reviews (and when I asked about it on Instagram, I got a lot of great messages about how many people loved it!)

Framing a portrait of Paris
When we went to Paris more than two years ago, we had portraits of the four Montmarte girls and they are still in my office cupboard. They had been asking for two years when we would frame and hang it and this Christmas we finally got it done!

And here’s what we put in their stockings:

Need a Cube
My girls are obsessed with these and they would all love to find one of them in their stockings on Christmas morning!

Pencil Case
I think these will be very popular for their church bags or travel backpacks to keep all their pens, pencils, and markers in one handy place!

Sunglasses
Some of my girls asked for sunglasses for Christmas and I definitely wasn’t interested in spending a lot of money on kids sunglasses, so I got an affordable pair of sunglasses for each stocking!

Skin Liver Marker
These are very popular and I bought a set so I could put them in each stocking (they are very affordable!)

3D Home Sticker Scene
This was on my $5 gift guide this year and I bought it very quickly. My girls are going to flip this!

Guardian of the Lost Cities water bottle sticker
My girls really love Guardians of the Lost Cities, so when I saw this water bottle sticker pack, I knew it would be fun to share among their stockings!

And if you’re interested, here’s what we got from the girls last year, 2023, 2022 in 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015!
