25+ Fun Halloween Traditions – Daily Readings

I am not big to be Halloween as a child, but now as a parent, this is one of my favorite holidays!

Over the years, we have developed several fun Halloween traditions (one of the best is our annual Halloween dinner!). There are so many fun ways to make October and Halloween feel very lively, whether you want something simple and easy or you want to go out all.

Halloween tradition

I try to focus on things that are fun for me and also my children -I like to decorate some of the main places (living room and kitchen are my favorite!) And I like special halloween food.

I also really like items that can play dual assignments for holidays and so on.

For example, this black dish ($ 29 for the four place settings) is very suitable for daily use but also looks very pleasant for our Halloween dinner (and then my Christmas dishes really appear in December!).

And this purple trophy? They work for every opportunity but feel a little scary and special for our Halloween dinner (I use it in Easter too!).

Two years ago, my mother bought me a profit runner of this profit and it was very lively, plus very small folding that I could save it easily. Under $ 10 and perfect at my coffee table all the months and then at my dining table for Halloween night.

This green candlestick (and the holder of cast iron candil!) Is a perfect final touch to add a few dimensions to the table, along with a group of miniature pumpkins, which I like throughout the fall, both for Halloween and Thanksgiving.

And this black bat package is a major example of a low effort and high impact – only under $ 10 for 160 bats. When we put our fireplace in this house, I know the bats will be perfect there and I like to install it every year!

However you like to celebrate, here are some great ideas for the Halloween tradition (some of us, some are suggested by my Instagram community!).

25+ Fun Halloween Traditions

  • Dry ice in root beer. This is a favorite Halloween tradition from my childhood and one of the main examples of high impacts and low efforts/costs. I took one or two dry ice pounds in Walmart (usually near the ice on the front of the store – ask for checkout and they will cut you from the block). Drop into the root beer pot (I like to do it in a silver silver pot) and let work miraculously. My girls really like this. Note that you don’t want to buy it more than the day before because it will disappear in your freezer because it is not as cold as dry ice storage. And also do not touch it with naked hands because it can burn you.
  • Halloween pajamas. I bought Ella’s skeleton pajamas when she was a toddler and my four girls used it for years – it was very funny! (And you can get it for the whole family!).
  • Jack-O-Lantern Pizza. This is a very popular advice and for good reasons. Very easy and affordable and a quick way to get a festive dinner on the table before you go trick-or-nursing.
  • Boo Halloween basket. This is another popular recommendation – parents fill the Boo basket for each child (or one for the whole family) and deliver it in the first October with Halloween pajamas, books (they can be new or what you already have!), Popcorn and candy. This is the main example where you can be large or simple, depending on your preferences.
  • Halloween bar chart. This is an intelligent Halloween tradition! Everyone guess what Halloween candy will be the most popular before going out to cheat or treat and then the next morning, the family creates a Halloween bar chart with candy to see what is given the most (and at least!).
  • Night Halloween movie. This is a fun way to start a halloween-choose a favorite scary film and take some festive snacks and curl up for the night movies. Depending on the weather where you live, some people say they like to do their Halloween movie night on the outside screen when they carve a pumpkin!
  • Bath sticks of light after tricks or treatment. My younger girls will especially like the Halloween-Eide tradition that is pleasant to add a stick to the bathtub to a little scary pleasure and clean the makeup of costumes and dirt from trick-or-treating!
  • New Lego Halloween which is set every year. This is very pleasant – the mother who suggested saying that they rebuild all the Halloween Lego sets ago every year together with the new one. Plus, a great seasonal appearance!
  • Gingerbread’s house haunted. We have a ginger bread party every December, but never occurred to me to do one with a haunted house in October – I like it! You can get this small kit with a price below $ 5 and many families say they use the remaining Halloween Permen to decorate!
  • Halloween snack party on October 1St. To start the season! Ah, I like this idea (and my girls will really like this). Parents who suggest this say all the houses are decorated and they listen to scary music when they eat their snacks.
  • Pumpkin pancakes for dinner. Whether you do this on October 1 or Halloween night or other nights in between, this is a super simple and fun Halloween tradition. (If you don’t like baking from the start, pumpkin pancakes and waffles under $ 2 and make it simple and delicious!).
  • Ride a haunted canoe. This is the Halloween tradition of one of our friends and we have joined them several times – very fun! Every family carries a carved pumpkin with a battery -powered light inside and then we put it to the front of the canoe and then rowing in the river when the sun sets until we completely leave by the pumpkin light.
  • Quesadillas Jack-O-Lantern for dinner. This is a simple and child-friendly dinner that is easy to make and eat before you get out of tricks-or-nursing. Bonus, Salsa can look like blood!
  • Halloween Yard Decoration Scavenger Hunt. This will be a good project for older relatives to do for younger children -making a list of things that they might see around the environment and tour around finding as many as you can. This is a perfect activity a few days before Halloween when people have outdoor decorations, but not as busy as Halloween’s night.
  • One book with a new Halloween picture every year. Naturally, I was above with this Halloween tradition and I like to build my vacation book collection. Some of my favorite Halloween books are included Widow broom, Ghost at home, StumpkinAnd I like my fangs.
  • Light in a dark dinner. I stole this Halloween tradition this year – my girls will like it. Many sticks of light on the table, bracelets and stick necklaces. How fun is this?
  • The bonfire carving party and pumpkin with friends! I would be happy if one of my friends arranged this – I am not sure I am ready to host this Halloween tradition but I want to participate!
  • Create pumpkin pumps pudding. This is a fun and easy idea – Mother who suggested saying she decorates it with a pumpkin of candy corn, oreo, gumous worm, and a layer of green sugar.
  • Halloween breakfast. Whether Halloween falls on weekends or school morning, a little additional planning can make the morning Halloween very pleasant. Many ideas for Halloween breakfast – ranging from simple to higher – here.
  • Halloween dance party. This is an activity after the perfect school, especially when Halloween’s excitement is truly lively some children. Find a list of Halloween Children’s Halloween and Go to the City!
  • Boo your neighbor. I have been a fan of a lifetime of this Halloween tradition where you drop a plate of items on your neighbor’s door, ring the doorbell and run like a ghost chasing you!
  • Decorating Christmas trees after tricks or care. If you want Christmas to come as fast as possible, this is a pleasant Halloween tradition! (I am amazed by any parents who have the energy to get out of the Christmas tree after a full day of Halloween celebrations!).
  • Show photos of Halloween from last year. This is one of my favorite Halloween traditions -my children like to see photos of their costumes for years. I print it as a 4 × 6 mold and framed in this cheap black frame from Walmart. Another parent said, “I have it from every year all the way back to my husband and me as a child!” How fun is that?
  • Dinner environment before trick-or-treat. This one is very fun – a good way to grow the community and friendship. Chili and corn bread are popular suggestions and so are mummy hot dogs!
  • Donuts and fruit juice for the first weekend in October. Register me for this Halloween tradition. We used to go to an apple farm at Wisconsin when I was a child and I would never forget a good apple donut.

  • Calendar Read Halloween. If you haven’t printed your free halloween chart, this is the time! This will take only a few minutes and you can enjoy it throughout the month. Add a box of new crayons or colored pencils and new Halloween books (or piles of Halloween books from the library!) To make it special.
  • Permen hunting. One parent said, “During Covid, we switch from tricks or caring for candy hunting and children prefer.” If the weather, time, or location make tricks-or-nursing become difficult, this is a good choice instead! Plus you can make sure you get good candy!
