40+ Summer Jobs for Teens
Every year, as summer rolls around, I get a DM asking “do you have any ideas for youth jobs?” or “how can my teenager make money over the summer?”
My kids do all kinds of things to make money – my oldest has a thriving face painting business, my second daughter details cars, and my youngest sells cookies in the neighborhood.
I asked for more suggestions on Instagram and here are some of the suggestions that came in:
40+ Teen Jobs for Summer
Service Jobs & Childcare
Parenting
This is a classic teen job that offers flexible hours and great pay, especially for responsible teens who enjoy working with kids.
Summer Camps & Kids Activities
Teens can work as junior counselors at organized summer camps or create their own themed camps for neighborhood kids that focus on arts, books, sports, crafts or other hobbies.
Teach a Lesson (Piano, Gardening, Sewing, Baking, etc.)
Parents are often happy to pay for their children to learn new skills, making this a great opportunity for teens to turn their talents or hobbies into income by teaching beginner lessons to younger children.
Care Assistance for the Elderly
This could be a meaningful volunteer opportunity or even paid work for teens who enjoy spending time with their parents and brightening someone’s day. Sometimes it’s as simple as stopping by to chat, read together, do a puzzle, share a snack, and provide a little companionship and conversation.
Pets & Animal Jobs
Dog Walking & Pet Sitting
Teens can earn money consistently by walking dogs, feeding pets, or checking on animals while neighbors are away.
Work for a Dog Groomer
Bathing, drying, and helping groom dogs at the grooming shop are great practical jobs for animal-loving teens.
Pick Up Dog Poop
OK, this one isn’t glamorous, but it’s surprisingly profitable and always in demand by busy pet owners.
Making & Selling Dog Food
Teens who enjoy baking can make homemade treats to sell locally or at the market.
Working on a Farm
Farm work teaches responsibility and hard work while helping with animals, crops, or farm maintenance.
Outdoor & Yard Work
Cutting Grass & Cleaning Yard
This can be a consistent, reliable summer job that can include mowing the lawn, weeding, picking sticks, collecting leaves, or general yard maintenance.
Power Washing & Dumpster Cleaning
You might be surprised by how popular (and profitable!) this is. People love seeing dramatic before-and-after transformations, and teens can make good money washing driveways, sidewalks, and patios or even cleaning out trash cans for neighbors looking for a fresh summer clean.
Move Trash Cans / Salt Delivery
Small jobs in the neighborhood like taking trash cans to the side of the road or delivering water softener salt can provide a steady income. This is perfect for very busy neighbors or elderly neighbors.
Car Details
Washing, vacuuming and detailing cars can turn into a very high-paying summer job, especially for repeat customers. One of my daughters did this to earn extra spending money one summer, and it was perfect.
Sports & Recreation Jobs
Lifeguarding & Swimming Lessons
This is a popular summer job for certified teens that combines responsibility, outdoor time, and a great salary. As an added bonus, it’s a great way to stay cool during the long, hot days of summer.
Referee or Sports Referee
Teens can officiate youth sports games such as football, soccer, or baseball and earn money per game.
Sports Training or Private Lessons
Talented youth athletes (in any sport) can earn money by teaching kids the basics and helping them build confidence and skills. There are likely teens with advanced experience who want to coach, encourage, and share what they know.
Golf Ball Resale
Collecting and reselling golf balls found on the course can be a very profitable side job. One mom said her kids made $350 doing this Memorial Day!
Retail & Food Jobs
Ice Cream, Snow Cone, or Snack Stand Workers
As the weather warms up, snow cone huts start popping up everywhere! Working at an ice cream parlor, ice cream shop, or concession stand at a sporting event can be a fun summer job that helps teens build customer service skills, responsibility, and self-confidence.
Lemonade or Snack Stand
Entrepreneurial teens can run their own neighborhood stand (be it lemonade, snacks, or ice cream) and put their business skills into practice.
Grocery Store Clerk
It’s a reliable first job where teens can learn valuable skills like customer service, stocking shelves, and working as part of a team. Many stores also hire teenagers for grocery pickup positions, helping shop orders and delivering them to customers’ cars.
Warehouse Worker
Older teens may be able to help pack, sort, or organize inventory in the warehouse.
Seasonal Attractions Workers
Seasonal attractions and local farms often employ teenagers to help with activities, tickets, concessions and customer service. Think pumpkin patches, zoos, amusement parks, fairs, festivals and other busy summer attractions.
Creative Jobs & Entrepreneurship
Sell Handmade Goods
Many teens enjoy creative hobbies such as knitting, woodworking, leather crafting, or even 3D printing. These skills can easily be turned into additional income by selling their handmade goods online or at local craft fairs and markets.
Bake & Sell Bread or Sourdough
Teens interested in baking can sell their baked goods to neighbors, friends, or at community events such as farmers markets.
Entertainment for Parties/Exhibitions
If your teen has a creative talent like face painting (my teen actually made face painting his summer job – you can read all about it here!), making balloon animals, or doing magic tricks, they can be a big hit at birthday parties, festivals, and community events.
Collect Returnable Containers
If you live in a state that has a bottle or can exchange program, collecting recyclables can be an easy and inexpensive way for teens to earn extra money. And even if your state doesn’t offer recycling buybacks, many landfills will still pay a nominal fee for aluminum cans, making it a simple way to turn recycling into cash.
Household Help Jobs
Folding Laundry & Household Chores
Busy families may be happy to pay teenagers to help with simple household chores and organizing.
Aquatic Plants & Pick Up Packages / Sitting at Home
If you have a responsible and trustworthy teenager, this could be a great summer job opportunity. Neighbors who travel during the summer often need someone to water plants, carry packages and mail, and watch the house while they are away.

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
